Sign-Ups open for Pick-Ups, Strategy Clinic and Learn to Curls.

Sign-ups are open for all the upcoming Pick-Up and Strategy sessions as well as Learn to Curl in August. Sign up now to make sure you have a spot. All Pick-Ups are open to both Members and anyone who has taken a Learn to Curl . The May 22 strategy clinic is open to all current TCC members (We need at least 10 participants). Come learn why and how to call shots and establish a game plan. The Learn to Curl on Aug. 28 is the last one for year and will give you an opprtunity to learn the basics of curling and maybe even join the club and participate in the Fall 2011 League.
Annual General Meeting

A reminder that the Annual General Meeting of the TCC will be held Sunday, May 1st, 3 p.m. at Dave and Pam Hamilton’s, 2201 Virginia Dare Place, Raleigh. The club will supply hot dogs and hamburgers. Please bring your own drinks, lawn chairs and a dish to share. Please RSVP to Pam so we know how many people will be attending at 217-4521. This is a family friendly event but we will also be taking care of some important club business such as electing new BOD members and discussing Fundraising and Club By-Law changes.

Board members are appointed to a 2 year term. You have the option of voting via email or voting at the Board meeting on Sunday. If voting via email please send your 4 nominees to Nick Witcraft and cc Adam Prince at your earliest convenience. Attached is a short statement by each of the nominees to aid in your decision. All 5 nominees are excellent choices but unfortunately we can choose only 4.
Building Fund Angel

In the past month the BOD of the TCC has started a campaign aimed at raising funds for a dedicated curling facility. The program called “Building Fund Angels” rewards anyone who contributes $100.00 or more with a special pin. This campaign is also open to all TCC Club members and it is our hope that you will participate. The World Curling Federation is now offering loans of up to $33,000 per sheet of ice with the proviso that the club already has 1.5 times that amount, so for 4 sheets we can borrow $132,000 but we need to have $198,000 in the bank.
