TCC recognized as nonprofit organization

(Originally posted on Monday, 2009 April 6 - 8:20 am) Its official: the Triangle Curling Club is now a recognized nonprofit organization with 501(c)3 status, allowing the Club to receive tax-deductible donations. This means members who make donations or in-kind contributions to the Club can report these contributions as tax deductible charitable donations on their individual tax returns. Several of the new arena clubs and some established clubs on dedicated ice in the United States also have the distinction of being a 501(c)3 charity. This classification has helped these clubs develop, enhance and improve their facilities. Although a capital campaign has not been established yet, the Board will create such a fund at a future meeting. To read more about this event, check out the Club’s March 2009 newsletter.
