January 1st New Year's Day Mini-Spiel

The Triangle Curling Club is signing up local curlers for a New Year’s Day mini-bonspiel. The mini-bonspiel will consist of 2 - 8-end games with a break between:

Date/time: January 1, 2011 NOON to 5:00 PM Download Registration Form

Cost: $40 for 2 games. You do not need to be a Triangle Curling Club member to participate in the mini-bonspiel.

Format: “Pointspiel”. Points are awarded for number of ends won plus number of rocks scored. The first 4 ends will be worth 1 point each, and the next 4 ends worth 2 points each. If an end is blanked (no rocks in the house), the point value of the end carries to the next end. The winner of the game will receive an additional 5 point bonus. The winning team will be whoever has the most total points after 2 games. Prizes will be awarded to the top 2 teams!

Refreshments: In between games 1 and 2 there will be a chance to grab some snacks and refreshments. Sandwiches will be provided and will hopefully be augmented by items generously donated from all our holiday leftovers! Drinks are not included, so please bring your favorite beverage.

White Elephant Exchange: This is your chance to get rid of that ugly sweater or other useless Holiday gift! Wrap your “what were they thinking” gift and come exchange with your curling friends! Takes place at the close of the competition.
