2013 New Year's Day Pointspiel

Want to start the new year off right? Is your New Year’s resolution to curl more? Then join us for our New Year’s Day One Day. The one day will consist of two 8-end games with a break in between.

Date: January 1, 2013
Time: Noon to 5 p.m.
Cost: $60. You may also share a spot with another person, where 1 person plays in the first game and another plays in the second game. Cost of a shared spot is $70, and must have people committed to each time slot. You do not need to be a Triangle Curling Club member to participate in the one day.
Format: “Pointspiel”. Points are awarded for number of ends won plus number of rocks scored. The first 4 ends will be worth 1 point each, and the next 4 ends worth 2 points each. If an end is blanked (no rocks in the house), the point value of the end carries to the next end. The winner of the game will receive an additional 5 point bonus. The winning team will be whoever has the most total points after 2 games. Prizes will be awarded to the top 2 teams!
Food: Lunch will be provided between games. Please provide your own beverage. Have extra cookies or fruitcake leftover from the holidays that you don’t want to take into the new year, bring them with you to share with your fellow curlers.
White Elephant: Along with lunch we will also be doing a white elephant gift exchange. Bring a small wrapped gift and we will exchange and steal them from each other. The gift can be serious, funny, curling related, or something a neighbor gave you that you wouldn’t dare keep at your house. One person’s bad gift might be someone else’s treasure.
