2012 Annual General Meeting and Bar-B-Q
Submitted by Lea on May 8, 2012 - 19:23The Triangle Curling club held its annual member appreciation Bar-B-Q and Annual General meeting on Saturday May 5. There was a great turnout of about 35 members and for the most part the weather cooperated as the storms did not hit until after the food was eaten and the games over. The meeting featured reports from all the committees and the President who gave a report of the past several years showing how much we had progressed. Elections were held for 4 open board slots but as there were only 4 nominations all were voted in by acclimation. Your new board members are Andrew Foulger, Amy Hobbie, Steve Janosko and Lance Wright, congratulations to all.

Submitted by Lea on March 26, 2012 - 08:48Four Triangle Curling Club teams participated in the 2012 Cherry Blossom at Potomac Curling Club during the weekend of March 22 – 25. As usual it was a blooming success as everyone had a good time and there was no end of food and drink. Team Hamilton ( Dave and Pam Hamiltin, Clifford Gray and Lea Franklin) finished at 1 -2. Team Jaun ( Chris Jaun, Patrick Rabenold, Amy Hobbie and Andrew Foulger) finished at 1 -2. Team “Southern Comfort” (Andrea and Chris Howard, Nick Witcraft and Mario Riveron) finished at 2 -2. The weekend was topped off by a Sunday appearance for Team Jackson (Murray, Kathy, Jimmy and Maureen Jackson) who finished at 4 -1 and won the Fourth event. Congratulations to the Jackson Clan (Jim and Maureen are Murray’s Uncle and Aunt).
St. Patrick's Day Parade 2012
Submitted by Lea on March 18, 2012 - 10:54The Triangle Curling Club participated in its second St. Patrick’s Day parade this past Saturday March 17. It was a beautiful sunny day with fairly warm temperature even for Raleigh in March. The weekend before a number of members were at the home of Kathy and Murray Jackson to help prepare the “Float” and this year a new curling rock was added thanks to the skillful hands of Jeff Turnham. Participating in the parade were Kathy and Murray Jackson, Clifford Gray and Lea Franklin, Steve and Leah Janosko, Sue Mitchell, Chris Jaun, Mike Norris, Kalon Self and Andrew Foulger. Mike, Kalon and Andrew were the big hits of the parade as they were all wearing their rather colorful curling pants. This seemed to get the attention of the large crowd along the parade route.
